MLB The Show 26 has shaken up Franchise mode in a big way. The classic Trade Finder—where you could instantly see what every team would offer for your players—has been removed. In its place, San Diego Studio introduced a realism-focused Trade Hub with delayed CPU responses, a “Fog of War” mechanic, and “Untouchable” player statuses.
No more instant trades means you have to be smarter and more strategic than ever. Luckily, the community has found both external tools and in-game workarounds to keep trading efficient.
Best External Alternatives
1. Baseball Trade Values
This is the go-to trade simulator outside the game. It calculates trade value based on a player’s performance, age, and contract. You can model trades before proposing them in-game to see if your package is fair. It’s basically like having a cheat sheet for trade math without breaking the game.
2. ShowZone Trade Tools
ShowZone offers data sheets and calculators that match MLB The Show’s internal trade logic. It helps you estimate how the AI values your players so you’re not guessing blindly.
Best In-Game Workarounds & Strategies
1. The 30-Team Control Workaround (Instant Trades)
If you really miss the old instant Trade Finder:
Turn on 30-Team Control when starting your Franchise.
Propose the trade package from your main team.
Switch control to the CPU team receiving the offer.
Go to their pending trades panel and manually press accept to instantly force the trade through.
It’s a bit of a hack, but it gets the job done.
2. Maximize the Expanded 4-for-4 Trade Slots
MLB The Show 26 now lets you trade up to four players on each side (previously three).
The Shotgun Strategy: Submit the same package to four teams at once.
Whoever accepts first gets your player—kind of recreating the old Trade Finder vibe without mods.
3. Decode Market Archetypes & “Salary Dumps”
The AI now values trades based on team type: Contender vs. Rebuilder.
Rebuilding Teams: Small-market or rebuilding teams love salary dumps. They’ll trade high-rated veterans for cheap if you take the contract, or pay extra for young talent.
Contending Teams: Use them when offloading old, expensive vets for premium prospects.
4. Leverage Multi-Position Players
Players with secondary positions now have extra trade value. AI weighs flexibility highly, so including a multi-position player can push a borderline trade past the new delayed review system.
